Kumu Keala Ching and members of Na Wai Puna o Kona will present “Hula at the Library” at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kailua-Kona Public Library. The event is part of the library’s Adult Summer Reading Program, which is promoting fitness this summer.

Kumu Keala Ching and members of Na Wai Puna o Kona will present “Hula at the Library” at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kailua-Kona Public Library. The event is part of the library’s Adult Summer Reading Program, which is promoting fitness this summer.

Ching will teach hula to those attending, then will lead the kupuna in a hula demonstrations. Na Wai Iwi OlaFoundation was founded to perpetuate the Hawaiian culture and practices through hula protocol and ceremonies, the use and study of the Hawaiian language, and by embracing the stories of our kupuna past, present, and future.
